My dear readers, all two of you, may have noticed I added a few buttons to the sidebar of this humble rant page. The Obama button, I explained in an earlier post. The realistic choices for President are McCain and Obama, so I picked the one i prefer.
The bigger thing I added is called “Good Causes.” It is going to be a list of charities and good causes I feel personally passionate about. These will be overwhelmingly causes I have been involved with in my own life.
The inaugural “Good Cause” is a button with the Boy Scouts of America logo, which links to www.scouting.org. I was in Boy Scouts as a teen and even attained the rank of Eagle Scout. My experiences in Scouting were invaluable and continue to be important of my life today. Whether it was practical skills like cooking, sewing, knots, and emergency CPR, or climbing mountains in New Mexico and the Adirondacks, or meeting great friends, the time I spent in Scouting left an indelible mark on my life.
If you want to support or donate to a great non-profit organization, consider supporting the Scouts.

For the bad press it gets from the “Drive-by” media, Scouts is still one of the best things a young person can get involved in. Mom and I are SO glad you are a scout, and SO proud of what you’ve accomplished.
